The UK Dermatology Clinical Trials Network (UK DCTN) was formed in 2002 with the aim of conducting high quality, independent, multi-centre clinical trials for the treatment or prevention of skin disease.
We are a collaborative network of dermatologists, dermatology nurses, health services researchers and patients throughout the UK and Ireland.
The UK DCTN is coordinated from the Centre of Evidence Based Dermatology at The University of Nottingham and managed by an executive committee of eight members and a steering committee of around 30 members. We have a 700 strong membership of health professionals, patients and researchers.
The business of the network is managed by:
- Trial Generation and Prioritisation Panel (Chaired by Dr John Ingram): identify and prioritise research ideas
- Steering Committee (Chair Professor Hywel Williams): review and recommend research proposals for progression through the trial development system
- Executive Committee (Independent Chair Dr Stephen Jones): general management of Network business.
The UK DCTN is registered with the Charity Commission (charity no. 1115745). See our constitution and related policies.
The UK DCTN is supported by the British Association of Dermatologists and the University of Nottingham. We are grateful to both the British Association of Dermatologists and the University of Nottingham for continued financial support of the Network.
