Our current ongoing trials are as follows:
- PATCH 1 & 2 – Two randomised controlled trials to investigate whether prophylactic antibiotics can prevent further episodes of cellulitis (erysipelas) of the leg. (NOW CLOSED TO RECRUITMENT)
- BLISTER - A randomised controlled trial to compare the safety and effectiveness of doxycycline with prednisolone for initial treatment of bullous pemphigoid.
- STOP GAP - A randomised controlled trial to test the hypothesis that ciclosporin is more effective than prednisolone for the oral therapy of pyoderma gangrenosum.
- LIMIT I - This is study to determine whether imiquimod is a sufficiently effective treatment for lentigo maligna.
Adopted Studies:
- SWET – Softened Water Eczema Trial . This study involves children aged six months to 16 years with moderate eczema. It is investigating whether water softeners help reduce the severity of eczema in children. Recruitment for this trial is taking place in five hard water regions (Nottingham, Isle of Wight, Cambridge, Leicester and London). Recruitment is now closed for this trial. Results to be published in 2010.

- SINS - Surgery versus Imiquimod for Nodular and Superficial basal cell carcinoma. This is a randomised controlled multi-centre phase III trial. Recruitment is now complete with 501 participants.
