This section explains the process by which trial ideas are submitted, reviewed and subsequently developed into full proposals.
The Network is open to trial suggestions from UK DCTN members based in the UK and Eire. If you are not experienced in setting up and running a clinical trial don't worry - the Network can help with all aspects of funding, design and implementation of clinical trials.
Submission Process
If you would like to suggest a trial idea to the UK DCTN, you will initially need to complete a vignette form and send it to the UK DCTN Administrator. It will then be reviewed by experts from our 'Trial Generation & Prioritisation Panel'. A good example of a completed vignette is shown here (pdf), use this as a guide of what information we need from you.
If your research idea is approved and considered appropriate to be developed through the Network it will be forwarded to the UK DCTN Steering Group for discussion at their next available meeting. In order to have a meaningful discussion about your suggestion, you will need to attend the Steering Group Meeting at which the vignette is discussed.
Depending on the feedback you receive from the Steering Committee, you will then work with the UK DCTN Senior Trial Development Manager to develop your idea further.
