- What is the cost-effectiveness for specialist clothing compared to normal care of children with moderate to severe eczema?

- Mohs’ surgery versus single complete excision in the management of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma
Lead investigator: None identified Interventions: Mohs’ surgery or single complete excision Outcomes: Primary outcome measure is disease free survival at 5 years. Justification for the trial: There are no prospective or comparative studies of Mohs’ surgery versus attempted single complete excision of SCC.

- Is spironolactone effective in the treatment of female pattern hair loss?
Lead investigator: Dr Andrew Messenger, Sheffield. Interventions: Oral spironolactone + topical vehicle vs oral placebo + topical minoxidil. Outcomes: Hair density - terminal hairs/unit area and global photographic assessment. Justification for the trial: Antiandrogens are widely used to treat this condition but no good RCT evidence of efficacy.
