Professor Hywel Williams, founder and director of the UK Dermatology Clinical Trials Network, receives prestigious award from the British Association of Dermatologists

Professor Williams was awarded the Archibald Gray Medal for his outstanding contribution to dermatology yesterday.  We are very proud to see that his tireless work over the years has been recognised.

Hywel is a Consultant Dermatologist at the Queens Medical Centre Nottingham, and Professor of Dermato-Epidemiology at the University of Nottingham.  He has led and advised on numerous clincial trials on various skin diseases and is a big advocate of evidence based medicine.  He founded the UK DCTN 15 years ago to develop and improve dermatology research in the UK.

You can read more about his career and achievements on the University of Nottingham website and find out about the clinical trials he has been involved in through his department - The Centre of Evidence Based Dermatology .

More recently he became Director of NIHR Health Technology Assessment Programme, but continues his work with the University, UK DCTN and of course his paediatric clinics.
