Senior Clinical Trials Development Manager
Division of Dermatology, School of Clinical Sciences University of Nottingham
Applications are invited for the above post based in the Centre of Evidence Based Dermatology, King’s Meadow Campus, Lenton Lane, Nottingham. The successful candidate will work with members of the UK Dermatology Clinical Trials Network (UK DCTN) in order to progress trial suggestions into fully developed funding applications. The successful candidate will support the wider development of the UK DCTN as an international organisation for the conduct of dermatology clinical trials.
Candidates should hold a postgraduate qualification preferably in health services research, statistics, or a related subject (and/or have significant relevant work experience in the field of clinical trials). They should have significant experience of designing and conducting clinical trials and significant experience of working in a multi-centre clinical trials environment. In addition, candidates should have a thorough knowledge of Research Governance and the EU clinical trials directive and of submitting ethics/R&D applications. Experience in delivering training, database design, data analysis and report writing will be an advantage.
Salary will be within the range £35,646 - £43,840 per annum, pro rata, depending on skills and experience (salary can progress to £50,822 per annum, pro rata, subject to performance) Hours of work are up to 29 per week, (minimum 21¾ hours per week). This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of three years.

Clinical Trial Manager - BLISTER STUDY (Maternity Leave Cover, Fixed Term Contract)
School of Clinical Sciences - The Centre of Evidence Based Dermatology
Applications are invited for the above post based in the Clinical Trials Unit, Univeristy of Nottingham (Medical School, QMC). The succesful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of, and contribute to the strategic direction of a mulit-centre clinical trial funded by the the Department of Health NIHR Health Technology Assessment Programme. The trial is studying the role of tetracyclines in the treatment of the skin condition bullous pemphigoid (acronym BLISTER) and is a UK DCTN led study. The succesful candidate will ensure all approvals are in place for new centres, further develop study procedures, update the protocol as necessary, train study personnel, manage the study budget, monitor recruitment and work closely with recruting centres in the UK to identify and address challenges that arise to maintain data quality. Other roles will include liasing with the Trial Oversight Committees, liasing with the Statistician and Data Manager for the study and supervising the Data Co-ordinator/Trial Administrator. The post will involve occassional travel to study sites across the UK and possible occassional meetings in Germany with the European Co-ordinator for the study.
Candidates should hold a degree (or equivalent) and have experience in the management and conduct of clinical trials. In addition, they should have an up to date working knowledge of clinical trials regulations and legislative requirements along with excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to prioritise workloads and be highly self motivated. Experience in delivering training, budget management and report writing will be an advantage.
The post is full time, but applications form candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week) or job share are welcome. It is a satisfaction of the post that satisfactory enhanced disclosure is obtained from the Criminal Records Bureau.
