UK DCTN Funding Awards
Annual Themed Research Call - Research development funds of £10,000
We run an open competition each year, on a different skin topic to assist research teams in developing their research idea. This award is principally designed to fund feasibility or pilot work that will eventually lead to a randomised controlled clinical trial, or inform the design of such a study.
Theme for 2027 - Dermatological Surgery
We have partnered with the British Society for Dermatological Surgery to invite research proposals on a surgical theme. If you are looking to develop a research project on this topic then please apply.

Your research proposal must be based on a dermatological surgery topic and have the potential to contribute to an eventual clinical trial.
Application deadline: July 2027 (date to be confirmed)
Please note: This award is open to UK/Ireland applicants only. We do not fund commercial enterprises. Your proposal, if shortlisted, must be presented to the UK DCTN Steering Group at their 2026 autumn meeting.
The research topic for the 2028 award will be decided soon.
