PEARLS Study Funded by NIHR

Lichen Sclerosus PEARLS study

We are pleased to announce the NIHR are funding the PEARLS study, it wiill loook at treatments for lichen sclerosus flares.  Lichen sclerosus of the vulva is a chronic inflammatory condition that mainly affects female genital skin.  The study will test proactive versus reactive therapy for the prevention of lichen sclerosus exacerbation and progression of disease by using steroid flare creams twice a week. This is a full randomised controlled trial and aims to start recruiting in March 2023.
