Evidence based update meetings

An annual one day evidence based update meeting is held by the Centre of Evidence-Based Dermatology of The University of Nottingham and is organised by the UK DCTN.  The topic for the meeting changes each year and is chosen following suggestions given by the previous years delegates.

The meeting is aimed mainly at dermatologists and specialist dermatology nurses, although anyone with an interest in the specific topic is welcome.

This update featured three Cochrane systematic reviews covering the topics of acne scarring, melasma, hirsutism, an RCT from the Cosmetic Science Centre in Hamburg on oncobotulinumtoxinA for upper facial lines, and the British Association of Skin Camouflage presented the latest on skin camouflage and it's place in 2016.

Sharon Aryiku and Douglas Grindlay launched a new resource on dermatological problems in skin of colour (on the Centre of Evidence Based Dermatology website).  Finally, a paper by Jasmijn Herruer and colleagues from Nijmegen, on satisfaction predictors for those seeking cosmetic facial surgery.

As always, we included our very popular “ask the expert” panel, where delegates are invited to submit practical questions to our specialist panel, including representatives from the British Cosmetic Dermatology Group.  The full programme can be seen here:
